This Cartell ITTL Version Driveway Probe, when used as a Free Exit device with the new GATEBIRDTM Long
Range Operators, can also serve as a AlertTM when the gate is open. That's two purposes for the
price of one, and both Long Range.
For example the Probe is placed in a shallow burial along the driveway forty to eighty feet inside the gate area. Someone leaving their
premises will trigger the gate to open for his exit. Then lets assume that the home owner wishes to open the gate and override its
automatic close setting. He will hear of the opening on his Base Unit. Then during the timed pause, he will send a call to his
"Bird" operator. It will respond with a short audible confirmation that gate will remain open. During this period of time
a vehicle passing through the open gate and passing the probe area will effect a Long Range Driveway AlertTM to the
homeowners Base Station. Other like-coded transceivers worn on a belt or in a shirt pocket, would also notify that someone is approaching.
The above mentioned Cartell probe is a product manufactured by the preferred Technologies Group of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It utilizes
a timed relay output and is merged for GatebirdTM use.
This new product is designed to notify the homeowner immediately when someone in a motor vehicle or ATV is approaching. The system has
a range of up to a mile or more depending upon terrain. It combines the
latest in high tech efficiency and will operate on a single 9V lithium battery
for approximately 1 year. A 9V rechargeable battery can also be used.
The installation is simple. Just place the 19 inch long probe slightly
underground along the driveway. The sensor with wireless transmit is housed in an all-weather enclosure and can be located as close to the
probe as convenient, yet is inconspicuous. The 80' cable can be coiled or cut to fit your needs.
The dual coded in-house rechargeable transceiver called Gatebird, will present a pleasant alert just so you will know someone is approaching.
This new product is being offered by the Gatebird Long Distance Gate Operator Companies.
